On this day in Australia, ANZAC DAY we remember all those that have fallen in war. Those that fought because they had to and those who fought because they loved, not just their country but their families, and those families that suffered because they fought. While often it seems war doesn’t solve much it is nonetheless as old as civilization itself. From a Christian perspective we remain at war in the spiritual sense as we spread the Gospel. This war comes into our everyday life as violence, hardship, poverty, obstruction and sadly even oppression. As we remember the fallen remember too that many have fallen at the hands of suicide, of others, of depression, grief and trauma. Soldiers in the armies of nations and soldiers in the army of God. To all those that fought and continue to fight in the name of freedom, justice, protection and love we say thank you. We will remember them…

Lest we forget.
